Its British remote casino and betting licences, however, remain active.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><br>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mga.org.mt\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">Malta Gaming Authority<\/a> (MGA) imposed the suspension on <strong>16 September but did not announce it publicly until 28 September.<\/strong> While the suspension is in effect, Condor cannot conduct gaming operations under its Maltese authorisation. The regulator did require the company to keep customers\u2019 accounts accessible so they can view their information.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><br>The MGA said its decision was based on four provisions of Malta\u2019s Gaming Compliance and Enforcement Regulations. These include <strong>alleged failures to meet regulatory obligations and financial commitments related to the business, as well as sufficient grounds for suspending the licence.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><br>The regulator has not explained the specific conduct that led to the action. It has not identified the financial commitments at issue, the sums involved or the particular compliance failures. As a result, the legal basis for the suspension is public, but the circumstances behind it remain unclear. The MGA register now lists<strong> Condor\u2019s B2C licence as suspended<\/strong>. Before the suspension, it covered Type 1 casino gaming and Type 2 fixed-odds betting, including live betting. The licence also connected Condor with a range of gaming suppliers, including<strong> Evolution, Pragmatic Play, Playtech, Relax Gaming, Play\u2019n GO and Hub88.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>UK licence remains in place<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The situation is different in Great Britain. As of 30 September, the Gambling Commission\u2019s public register still listed Condor Malta Limited as an active licensee, with permissions for remote casino gaming and General Betting Standard \u2013 Real Event betting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The two decisions are not automatically inconsistent. The MGA and the Gambling Commission operate under<strong> separate regulatory systems, so action by one regulator does not by itself change a licence issued by the other<\/strong>. Still, the grounds cited in Malta make Condor\u2019s UK status notable. The MGA referred to financial commitments and regulatory compliance, rather than a purely administrative issue. The public notice does not say whether the MGA has shared information with the Gambling Commission or other regulators. Nor does the British register indicate that Condor is under review.<br>An active listing does not reveal whether a regulator is conducting an assessment behind the scenes. No such review has been confirmed in the information available for this article.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Questions remain about customer balances<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The MGA directed Condor to keep registered players\u2019 accounts accessible so they can view their account information. But its notice does not explain how withdrawals will be handled or what will happen to balances while gaming under the Maltese licence is suspended. That lack of detail is not evidence that customer funds are inaccessible or at risk; the regulator has published no such finding. It does, however, leave players with limited information beyond the requirement that they retain access to their accounts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>What the split in regulatory status means<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Condor is now in a divided regulatory position: <strong>the MGA has suspended its authority to operate in Malta, while the Gambling Commission continues to list its UK casino and betting permissions as active.<\/strong> The most significant unanswered question is what prompted the Maltese decision. The MGA has identified the regulations it relied on but has not described the underlying financial commitments or compliance concerns. For customers covered by the Maltese authorisation, the public notice confirms account access but offers no detailed guidance on existing balances during the suspension.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The timing is also notable: the suspension was in effect for 12 days before the MGA announced it on 28 September.<br>Condor may appeal the decision under<strong> Malta\u2019s Gaming Act.<\/strong> The information available for this article does not show whether the company has done so. For now, the distinction is clear: Condor cannot operate under its Maltese licence, while its British remote casino and betting permissions remain active.
