Sportradar Agrees $170 Million Sale of Atrium Sports.

Sportradar will sell its Atrium Sports business for $170 million in cash, while keeping the technology it considers important to its core products.

The deal, announced Wednesday, is expected to close in the fourth quarter of 2026, subject to customary closing conditions. Sportradar acquired Atrium Sports in 2021. The planned sale reflects a broader effort to streamline operations and focus on betting, gaming and media.

The company expects the disposal to be “accretive”, notably with a double-digit EBITDA multiple relative to its market valuation. Sportradar has not disclosed the buyer.

“This transaction optimises and streamlines our business as we focus on our core betting, gaming and media priorities, while enabling us to retain key technology assets and capabilities that will support growth and innovation,” CEO Carsten Koerl said.

“The proceeds will further strengthen our balance sheet and support capital allocation priorities,” he added.

Sportradar shares rose modestly in early trading after the announcement.

Technology stays in-house

Although Atrium Sports is being sold, Sportradar will retain a number of technologies and related revenue streams. These include automated video-production cameras, automated graphics solutions, selected computer-vision capabilities and competition-management products.

The move comes as Sportradar expands into prediction markets. Additionally in recent months, the company had agreed multi-year deals with Polymarket and Kalshi.

On the company’s second-quarter earnings call, Koerl told analysts that exclusive partnerships with prediction-market operators could create significant commercial opportunities, supported by technology.

“We’re getting involved with data and odds fan engagement tools and marketing services. They have a very wide range of revenue opportunities,” said Koerl.

“We are very optimistic that we found the right framework,” he added. “Here, latency is key and centre. Deep data is key and centre. That gives new revenue opportunities.”
