Spain’s Online Gambling Revenue Reaches €410.3 Million in Q2
Spain’s online gambling sector experienced continued growth in the second quarter of 2025, with revenue increasing both compared to the previous quarter and the same period last year.Spain’s Gambling Revenue
During Q2, online gambling gross revenue in Spain rose by 18.5% year-on-year, bolstered by double-digit gains in both casino and sports betting segments.
For the three months ending June, total online gambling revenue hit €410.3 million ($484.2 million), surpassing Q2 2024 figures. The Spanish regulator, the Directorate General for Gambling Regulation (DGOJ), also noted a 2.8% increase compared to Q1 2025.
Player deposits during this period grew by 23.7% to €1.35 billion, a figure only slightly lower than the previous quarter. Withdrawals saw a significant jump of 28.9% year-on-year, reaching €962.9 million, and remained consistent with Q1 levels.
The DGOJ highlighted an 11.7% rise in new account registrations, totaling 504,853, though this was 11.6% lower than the previous quarter. Marketing expenditures surged by 37.1% from last year to €164.5 million, with a slight increase over Q1 2025.
Online Casino Continues to Lead the Market
Breaking down the market segments, online casino gaming remained the dominant revenue contributor in Spain.
In Q2, casino-related revenue hit €216.4 million, accounting for 52.7% of the total and marking a 26% increase compared to 2024. The DGOJ attributed this growth mainly to slot machines, which saw a revenue jump of 33.6%.
Sports betting also exhibited robust growth, with revenue rising 18.2% year-on-year to €171.4 million, making up 41.8% of the total online gambling income. This segment also grew 2.7% compared to Q1 2025.

Online poker generated €19.1 million, reflecting a 25.2% decline from last year and a 25.1% decrease from Q1. Meanwhile, bingo revenue declined slightly to over €3.4 million, down 6.4% from the previous year and 6.9% from the first quarter of 2025.
The DGOJ also briefly mentioned “contests” as part of the gambling landscape, noting that revenue and player expenditure in this category remained minimal.
By the end of Q2, Spain licensed a total of 77 operators, with 64 holding at least one active license during the period. These included 52 online casino operators, 42 sports betting providers, nine poker rooms, four bingo operators, and two contest platforms.
